Main Story

I was at the dog park, trying to squeeze in a quick break before the next meeting. Only one other person was there, and our dogs immediately found each other—circling, chasing, tumbling in the dust. I smiled, but my mind was already half gone, counting minutes and checking the time.

Watching the dogs play, I sensed an invitation—a gentle nudge to connect. My immediate thought was, *Not now, Jesus.* There was work to finish, tasks to handle, emails waiting. I felt torn between what matters in heaven’s view and what seems urgent here on earth. Then came His reminder: There is nothing more urgent in life than “Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself.” Those words felt heavy and light all at once. They rearranged my priorities in a single heartbeat. So I took a deep breath, released the anxious push to be somewhere else, and walked toward the man. “Where did you get your dog?” I asked.

It wasn’t profound, just human—and that was enough. The moment shifted from passing time to shared time. Another chance to show the love of Jesus unfolded before me.Sharing the gospel always begins with a change in thinking—a decision to live in proximity with others. In every ordinary moment, we have the opportunity to reflect the love of Jesus. When we surrender our plans, we begin to notice the quiet invitations He places before us. Sometimes, all He asks is that we show up—with love, right where we are.
